The Cellar

Did you know that Willcox grows 74% of Arizona’s wine grapes? Its unique climate and geology were formally recognized as an American Viticultural Area (AVA).

In addition to our our wine, we proudly represent numerous local wineries and offer the full wine tasting in our Wine Room. Adjacent to our Farm Shop, which offers a full coffee bar and housemade goodies, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

 Willcox Wine Facts

What makes Willcox well-suited for wine grape growing?

1. ELEVATION & CLIMATE
At an average of 4,200 ft in elevation, our grapes enjoy warm, sunny days allowing them to fully ripen but cool off considerably at night which preserves natural acidity. These large diurnal temperature swings allows us to grow grapes that are full-flavored with balanced freshness.

2. SOIL
Our rich alluvial and volcanic soils are eroded from the surrounding mountains and allow for excellent drainage — a necessity for grape vines that don’t like to have wet feet.
